Funny how time changes ones perspective. When the F40PH came out, I thought it was OK, as a passenger unit. Functional, not pretty. Came to like the look, since the Superliner cars were also very boxy. Then the P40/42 came along...could you make an uglier locomotive?
Well, Siemens took the challenge and nailed it. Now the P42 looks good to me. Have my eyes gone that bad? Am I getting sentimental? Am I realizing that I will actually miss them?
