Brian, thank you for the photo but it is very sad to see. Does anyone know if any or all of these locos will be preserved and perhaps even haul freight for another line, such as an Alco RR out east?

Hi Jim, I cannot speak to the prospect of any of these units returning to service, unfortunately. I was under the impression that MNNR 83 was going to stay in service for the tight industrial trackage of northeast Minneapolis, but it ended up among these units. However, I can say that the railroad is placing locomotives in the yard to free up space around the roundhouse's tight quarters.
