At present am intermittently working on building an electronic version of Model Railroader's A&A layout featured in the September 1978 "Railroad you can model" article. Looking at Google maps confirms the 'train set radius' horseshoe curve just south of next street south, Mill Street, is indeed very much that kind of curve in real life! And the relationship didn't really stick in my brain until seeing Google maps, on the front side of these buildings, A&A's depot and office is right across the street. Also of note, located just behind where photographer is, Google Maps shows a centercab, a boxcar, and a caboose, displayed on a just barely long enough piece of track. Aw man, their 'Street View' stayed on the street and out of that parking area. As it happens, a bit back, someone made a series of A&A steam and diesel locos for use in Trainz railroad simulator.
