An ex-MoPac GP15-1 built in December of 1976 shares yard duty with a former Rio Grande motor as they both take a break today at the UP’s 36th street yard.
The UP power that is often assigned to the 36th Street Yard tends to be reliable but older units like UPY 577 (GP15-1 built in 1976) and UP 1343 (GP40-2 built in 1974).
