FEC 226 heads northward through the tidal marshes of St. Augustine.
The first time that I have seen three Champs and a Susan Komen unit on FEC 226 was today. Power was in Ft. Lauderdale for grand opening of a new port facility.
Three Champs and a Susan Komen motor! This is the first time I think this has happened and luck was with me this day. Note the rainbow with the gulf storms in the distance.
I was not believing it, but again for a 2nd day in a row, 226 had a quad big M lashup yet again. This is a shot that only works right around the start of summer.
Four big M's surprised us on 226 this morning...we could not believe it! And now with time running out on these motors we were very pleased to get a quad lashup of them.
FEC 226 with two GP40-2's rolls through the tidal marshes in St. Augustine. This is the best time of year for this angle with the morning sun swung north.
How much longer will scenes like this be possible? By next year we may see all through trains dominated by GEVO's with a few exceptions. Get your pics while you can.
Reflections.... FEC's 226 lead by Champ 711 wanders through St. Augustine. Even with the US 1 bridge rebuilt offering higher views, the classic shot still works.
FEC 226 rolls into St. Augustine with Champion 711 leading. The Champion scheme will be applied to the new GEVO's when they arrive later this year.
In the Nation's oldest city, twin Champs roll 226 across the tidewater as puffy clouds build.
FEC 226 rolls across the Tomoka River on a warm humid morning. Today's plus is two champs leading. For Betty Buchanan who passed on recently who was an active volunteer locally.
