The nerve center of UP 844

On a clear summer morning, Union Pacific FEF-3 4-8-4 Northern number 844 chuffs past Terry Ranch Road on her way to Denver.

This locomotive had just come from a lengthy overhaul, and was out for testing with a short train.

Inside the historic old Union Pacific steam backshop in Cheyenne, home base for Union Pacific's steam fleet, work is underway on returning UP FEF-3 #844 to service.

Union Pacific's famous 4-8-4 Steam engine 844 goes through the final phases of its thorough restoration. After reassembly, it hopefully will be ready for service by June of this year!
