A photographer gets his photo of Amtrak "Carolinian" train 79 going though Ashland, Virginia. As of the 3rd of November the foliage was just beginning to peak in the area.
The "Carolinian" doesn't stop at Tim's River Shore; too bad--the clam chowder is excellent, and the train-watching is good also!
This is the SB Carolinian. For a town of 30,000 Salisbury see a lot of trains, i.e., eight. The north and southbound Crescent, Carolinian, and two Piedmonts.

The Carolinian heads south toward High Point almost right on time.
The Carolinian was running approximately an hour and a half late, which meant that I was able to catch it after work.
