UP #844 getting ready to hit the mainline for westward movement.

The weather has turned from rain to sleet and snow as 844 prepares to depart the Golden spike Monument to head to the coach shops and then to Omaha.

UP 844 pulls out of the coach yard on the north side of Council Bluffs and heads for the Golden Spike monument.

UP 844 leads the 50th Anniversary Special eastbound at Roscoe. Two days of lousy weather made well lit shots rare.

With the train made up 844 is just a few minutes away from departing the yard and heading for North Platte and eventually Omaha. Taken with permission.
