In the warm evening light a train from Mejillones is fighting up Cumbre pass below the horseshoe curve of Desemparados. Pulling are GR12U # 1405 (new for FCAB in 1961), Clyde built GL22C # 1454 (former Queensland Railway # 1517 from 1968) and GR12U # 1404 (new for FCAB in 1961).
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
