A trio of Amtrak Dash 8-32BWH diesels hustle train #4, the eastbound Southwest Chief (Los Angeles CA to Chicago IL) through Holbrook, Arizona, on September 1st, 1992. At this point in Amtrak's history, express freight was carried, as evidenced by the five "Amboxes" ahead of the baggage car, followed by eight high-level cars (two former Santa Fe cars and six Superliners). There were only 20 Dash 8-32BWH diesels built by General Electric, all for Amtrak and all in this spectacular paint scheme.
