There is always a flurry of activity when a passenger train arrives in Fullerton (and there are many of them each day!), but there is extra activity when Amtrak's Southwest Chief arrives - luggage to be loaded into the baggage car, farewells to be said before loved ones board for points east, and commuters watching all the hubbub while waiting for their Metrolink or Pacific Surfliner train. As the days grow shorter, this all takes place under the cover of darkness, adding an exciting element to a transcontinental train trip! (Well, Los Angeles to Chicago is about as transcontinental as Amtrak gets without having to change trains.)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
