Municipal Railway PCC 1117 rolls to a stop in San Francisco, California, on September 2nd, 1978. MUNI 1117 is operating on the railway's K Ingleside line, which mainly serves the West Portal and Ingleside neighborhoods. The original K Ingleside streetcar line opened in 1918. While many streetcar lines were converted to buses after World War II, the K Ingleside remained a streetcar line due to its use of the Twin Peaks Tunnel. The MUNI still operates a fleet of PCCs, relegated to the Market Street Line, but 1117 is no longer a part of the MUNI's roster.
