Washington DC's just opened streetcar line is a 2.2-mile ride running in mixed traffic along H Street and Benning Road in the city's Northeast quadrant. Opened for service just 11 days earlier, on February 27th, this is the first segment of a planned 37-mile, 8 line system. The first three cars were constructed by Inekon Group a.s. (of Ostrava, Czech Republic), and an additional three cars are on order from Clackamas, OR-based United Streetcar, LLC. The line's western end is at Union Station, where we see car 203 crossing over to begin its run as car 202 ties up at the end of the line.
