A shiny BNSF 8782 lifts a manifest thru South Boulder Canyon. The train is passing the daylighted Tunnel 28, and about to enter one the tightest curves on the Moffat Road. According to a 1989 D&RGW track chart available online, the curve is 12 degrees and compensated to 1.57%. This makes the grade here equivalent to 2.05%, this is mountain railroading! Soon the train will punch thru Tunnel 29 and pass thru Pinecliffe, Colorado.
