Following a congressional outing in Montpelier, Vermont, aboard a quartet of Vermont Rail System/Green Mountain Railroad passenger cars, the equipment is seen deadheading back toward Bellows Falls, Vermont, behind New England Central's Buffalo & Pittsburgh GP40 #3000, the Mortimer B. Fuller III. The train is crossing the well-flowing White River at Bethel, Vermont, with an old mill and waterfalls visible in the distance. A well-placed sun burst was timed perfectly with the train's crossing of the bridge here.
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
