BNSF GP60 198 is unique on the railway - it is the only engine in a solid red paint scheme. Built by EMD in May 1990 as Texas Mexican 869. TM sold it to Helm Leasing (as HLCX 7700), and Helm, in turn, sold it to the Vermont Rail System, which repainted it red and numbered it VTR 381. VTR turned it back over the Helm and, from there, it was purchased by BNSF. BNSF originally numbered it 168 before renumbering it to 198. The locomotive is seen at the Barstow Engine Facility on February 16, 2018. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
