On September 19, Vermont Rail System deadheaded this year’s foliagebtrain consist from North Walpole, NH to Chester, VT, providing an opportunity for some shots that won’t be possible again until the train deadheads back at the end of the foliage season. VTR GP40-2 303 is MU’d through the train and is following the throttle positions of the GMRC 405 as the train is westbound along the Connecticut River at Webb Pond late in the afternoon and justbahead of a charter trip.
