EMD GT22CU-3 (rebuilt GR12 from 1964, former FNC # 422, former STF # 1222 ) # 2404 and Clyde Engineering GL26C-2 # 2004 (former Queensland Rail #2106 built 1971) of the FCAB are pulling the empty boxcar train from Antofagasta to Bolivia down the grade to the Salar de Carcote towards the chilean/bolivian border station of Ollagüe, on about 3700 meter a.s.l. Salar de Carcote, also known as Salar de San Martín, is a salt flat in northern Chile with a surface of about 108 km2. In the background is the about 6040 meter high volcano Cerro Palpana.
