Back to back at Bronte in the Bronx. The Amtrak Lake Shore Limited (Train 48) took on the traditional appearance of a real long distance train on Thursday, June 25, 2020 as Phase III P32AC-DMs 713 and 710 were back to back for the trip from Albany-Rensselaer, NY to New York’s Penn Station. On the top of the cliff in Spuyten Dutvil (or South Riverdale as it is sometimes called) is the Villa Charlotte Bronte. Built in 1926, it was constructed in deliberate contrast to the style of modern buildings. It survives today as a unique set of residences atop one of the higher points of elevation in New York City.
