Southern Pacific's Marlboro Local was down to just one car as it headed east down Anaheim’s Santa Ana Street on a gloomy April day. But, this job's day is just beginning, and there will be cars loaded picked up en route to be brought back to Anaheim, and from there placed in a "Hauler" to be taken to West Colton Yard, and then on to points around the system – and off the SP, too, for that matter. SP S6 1213, built by American Locomotive Company in June 1955 as SP 1046, is pulling an all-SP train: a 50’ double-Plug-Door boxcar and a C-40-3 caboose. (Anaheim, California – April 1975)
