Meet your replacement. With the formal abandonment of the New York & Greenwood Lake Railway, mechanical work and administrative approval was all that separated the former Erie Railroad's Dundee Spur from oblivion. On Thursday, September 24, 2020, Morristown & Erie Railway SW1500 20 is parked along with a work train to remove the rails and the NYGL's equipment, which is now owned by Operation Toy Train and will be brought to Honesdale, PA for storage and repair. In the foreground, the construction to expand Dundee Park Riverfront Greenway is planned to continue onto the former right of way when all of the cars are gone and the rails removed, erasing the chapter of the area's history.
