As the sun prepares to set on Chicago, Union Pacific Northwest train #647 begins its trip to Harvard with Metra's newest creation in charge. Leading the way is METX #90, looking great in Chicago & Northwestern inspired paint. Just up the line, the train will reach its first station stop at Clybourn. Metra hits the nail right on the head with all of their heritage painted units, but this one is easily my favorite so far.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
