The MTA Church Avenue subway station in Brooklyn (aka Flatbush), while below ground, is an open-air station. However, two of the four tracks are covered, as seen in this daylight photo of a northbound train of mid-70s Pullman R-46s. On weekends, the Q Line trains only operate on these covered outer tracks, leaving the much more scenic – and better lit – inner tracks empty. Naturally, I was there on a weekend. But, to quote a Catskills comedian, "I’ll be here all week!" and I hope to get back to this spot during that time to catch a completely different view here. (Brooklyn, New York – November 28, 2020)
