Some twenty years after the orange Q bullet was discontinued (it was used for Sixth Avenue service from 1988-2001), it inexplicably showed up on R68A car 5114, leading a New York City subway 2nd Avenue/Broadway Express/Brighton Local seen rolling into the Newkirk Plaza station, in the city’s Flatbush neighborhood. (It has been yellow since 2001.) Adding to the confusion, car 5129, a little further back in the train, was displaying an orange B train bullet! (Brooklyn, New York – May 11, 2021) And a big shout-out to my three-year-old grandson, Emmett, who knows more than I about New York City’s subways, for pointing out the archaic marking on the front of this train!
