With the morning's fog burned off, Union Pacific local LOA32 makes its way from Anaheim’s West Anaheim Yard to Santa Ana with UP GP40P-2 1375 and GP60 1083 pulling sixteen cars. As it does so, it utilizes Metrolink’s Orange Sub for 4½ miles between the southern part of Anaheim to downtown Santa Ana, and then it switches back to the UP's Santa Ana Industrial Lead for another six miles to the industrial complex that generators much of the traffic for this train. This train's lead locomotive, UP 1375, is one of just three such locomotives ever built, all for the Southern Pacific to use on Bay Area commuter trains. UP 1375 is the former SP 7602, originally SP 3199. The train returned with 18 cars. (Orange, California – December 20, 2021)
