Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 767 passes the old Santa Fe depot in Carlsbad as it rushes to the next stop on its way to Los Angeles, Oceanside, three miles ahead. This charming station was built in 1887 and was used by the Santa Fe Railway until 1960. Fortunately, it was saved and refurbished, and now serves as the city’s visitor center. Stretching from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, the Surf Line has become Amtrak's second busiest route. See the Pacific Surfliner and San Diegan in action along with trains from predecessors Santa Fe and Southern Pacific.
