The Santa Ana Transportation Center is standing in for Spain's "Santa Apolonia" station as it might have appeared in the 1940s - although it may be fictious, as there appears to be no Santa Apolonia in Spain (but there is one in Guatemala, and a train station with that name in Lisbon, Portugal). Among the changes both large and small made to the station for the film, note the colorful bougainvillea growing on the gate to the station, just beside the locomotive – it is all fake, and noticeably so in real life – but it will appear life-like when seen in the background, behind the actors. The magic of Hollywood! The film, known as simply "MBS" (abbreviations or fake film titles are commonly used on the many yellow signs pointing the way to the location for crew members around town), is reportedly being filmed for Disney+. Meanwhile, in real life, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 770 rolls to a stop as it heads from Goleta to San Diego, with California Department of Transportation SC-44 2111 pulling the six-car train. (By the way, this isn’t this station’s first film role, as it was also used as Los Angeles Union Station in the film "Rain Man," starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, as the real LAUS was unavailable because it was simply too busy to accommodate the massive film crew and all their equipment.)
