After two days with about one meter of fresh snow, a wonderful day breaks. Shortly after seven in the morning the first train from Poschiavo just has reached Alp Grüm on 2091 meter above sea level. The "Allegra" trainset ABe 8/12 # 3510 is shoving the spur plow Xk # 9144, which illuminates the section to the gallery Grüm with its bluish-white headlights. The massiv stone building of Alp Grüm station with restaurant and hotel was opened in 1926. In the background, from left to right, the snowy summits of Piz Palü (East Summit 3882 m), Piz Caral 3421 m and Sassal Mason 3031 m.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
