Battle of 100 Loads One Hundred loads of rock is lifted up South Draw for a West-Slope track project. The very heavy westbound is slowly moving up the 2%+ grade and 10 degree curves of South Draw by 7 big AC Locomotives. The 3 mid-train DPU locomotives are out of sight in one of the tunnels. At about 14000 tons this is one of the heaviest trains westbound ever to climb the Front Range. Tunnels 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 are in view. With tunnels 16 and 17 just out of sight. This is about the hardest pull on the Moffat, with the runner up being the approach to Tunnel 29. The train made quite an impression as it battled gravity, gasped for oxygen and strained against wet rail.....
