Just after sunset, the World's Fair Daylight, a 13-car train pulled by former Southern Pacific GS-4 class 4-8-4 steam locomotive 4449, crosses over Fresno's Belmont Avenue. The train will spend the night near the old SP passenger depot here in town, and head to the Tehachapi Mountains and Los Angeles the next day, and then continue east to New Orleans, Louisiana – site of the 1984 World's Fair. Forty years after this photograph was taken, and 28 years after the SP disappeared into the Union Pacific, that iconic old Southern Pacific logo is still on this bridge!
