Remarks & Notes
Sandrini, at milepost 927 on BNSF Railway's Bakersfield Sub, is a rather lonely place located in California's southern San Joaquin Valley. And it is here where we find southbound (eastbound on the BNSF) Amtrak San Joaquin 702, speeding its way through the fields as it heads from Oakland to Bakersfield. California Department of Transportation (owner of the cars used on California's state-funded trains) Cab-Baggage-Coach 6961 (named Point Arguello ) leads this six-car train (five California Cars and one former-NJ Transit "Comet" coach), with F59PHI 2007 shoving on the rear.
