Shortly after start-up, a Blue Ridge Southern crew gets cars ready at the Evergreen Paper Plant in the mountains of North Carolina. WAMX 4203 was built as DRGW EMD SD45 5323 in 1967. It was later rebuilt to SD40M-2 specs.
The paper mill has since closed and is said to be demolished soon. All of the six-axle power has been sent to other Watco properties and much of the staff of this railroad has found other work. |
