DB class 18.6 four-cylinder compound Pacific No 18 620 runs light engine over the causeway into Lindau Hbf on a hot August afternoon in 1964. This is the only Maffei Pacific that I have ever photographed and was one of the very last survivors in its last days. The 30 BR 18.6 engines were 18.4 engines rebuilt with high performance welded boilers in 1953-56. This one was originally No 18 514 from a batch of 40 built in 1926-30 for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Compare with Georg Trueb's photo of the former 18 478 at Lindau on 3rd March 2012.
