Three F-unit sets line up at the servicing facilities at Clovis, New Mexico, in September 1965. One set is led by a F9A (287C), another by a FTA (173L), and the last by a F7A (228C). F-units were commonly used at this time east of Clovis and south to Carlsbad.
There are times when many engines, cars or cabooses are concentrated in a location. Such sites are for storage, economic reasons, active power needs or for rebuilding. For others, wear and tear have brought their usefulness to and end.
