Sounder Train 1700 led by cab car SDRX 109, heads north across the Bridge of Many Names, while a southbound BNSF manifest makes its way to the Seattle Terminal and ultimately Vancouver WA. The Bascule bridge, officially known by BNSF as Bridge 6.3, is on a short list to be replaced with a vertical lift bridge. It also goes by the name of Salmon Bay bridge for the water way it crosses. Just beyond is the Ballard Locks (Hiram M. Chittenden) and the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Off in the distance are the tall buildings of downtown Seattle, with the Cascade mountains finishing the scene.
