Sitting behind the shop building in Canadian National's Woodcrest Shops in CN E9A 103. Built in December 1955 as Chicago Burlington & Quincy 9986A, this engine was still on the roster when the CB&Q was merged with the GN, NP and SP&S in 1970, becoming Burlington Northern 9986. BN would later rebuild it, removing its portholes and adding Head End Power (HEP) for use on Chicago's commuter trains, and renumbered to BN 9916. (Homewood, Illinois - September 30, 2018) Photographed on railroad property with permission and full personal protective equipment (PPE).
