A Hartford-New Haven CTrail train passes the circa 1871 former train station at Wallingford, CT. Used by Amtrak until moving to a new station with high-level platforms about a half-mile north of here in 2017 (visible in the background of this image), the building is now in non-railroad use, but is still well-maintained. As for the rolling stock, the diesel was originally delivered to Amtrak in 1993, and served a stint with NJ Transit before ending up in Connecticut. The cars were built by Brazil's Mafersa in 1992 for service on Virginia Railway Express, and were bought by the Connecticut Department of Transportation in 2004 for Shore Line East service.
