In the midst of heavy rolling thunderstorms (making the photographer increasingly anxious), the Rocky Mountaineer exits tunnel 39 slowly working its way through the imposing rock faces and steep walls of Little Gore Canyon, high above the Colorado River. Running late at this point, they're back on the move after holding at Azure for a while waiting for a washout to be cleaned up at Yarmony - engineering at its finest, but never without its challenges along the former D&RGW.
