A high green signal allows Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 583, with a mix of Amfleet and Horizon Fleet cars, to depart Fullerton as the sun sets in the west. This train, heading to Los Angeles from San Diego, is running 25 minutes behind schedule. Amtrak Non-Powered Control Unit (NPCU) 90208 (ex-F40PH 208) leads this train, with AMTK Dash 8-32BWH 507 shoving on the rear. Meanwhile, on Track 2 of the BNSF San Bernardino Sub is eastbound BNSF freight M-WATBAR1-24A (with BNSF 7772 leading), held so this Surfliner could cross over to Track 1 ahead of it before it continues its trip from Watson Yard (in Wilmington CA) to Barstow CA. A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
