Norfolk and Western 335 and a GP-9 are performing final switching prior to heading down the Abingdon Branch to West Jefferson, NC.

Ballast train on the siding to allow 22A to pass.

Eastbound passing the historic in-use, by local organizations, Freight and Passenger Depots and display caboose of the N&W.

The westbound (22A) gets a clear signal and begins to roll as the scruffy local moves east on the siding.

The retired caboose on display is almost as amazed as I was to see 3 units of the same model on the WB local. The crew died on the law so the old crummy will probably get to contemplate the train... (more)
