Southern Railway 2-8-0 385 looks splendid after the recent cosmetic restoration by the Whippany Railway Museum.
The holiday season is here and a part of an annual tradition the Whippany Railway Museum has decorated the 4039 as ole' St. Nick.
On December 7 the Whippany Railway Museum hosted Santa Claus excursions over the Morristown & Erie Railway. The train was powered by M&E SW1500 20 on the westend and C424 18 on the east end.
The Whippany Railway Museum's cosmetic restoration of Southern 2-8-0 #385 is almost complete. The fully-lettered engine sparkles on a crisp autumn day, framed by the rusty leaves of late fall.
