SD18 193 rolls 123 empty coal cars across the French River along the north shore of Lake Superior. The cars had been stored along the North Shore Scenic Railroad.
Mechanical problems with a sister unit forced the DM&IR #193 into service solo. She did a great job, pulling 123 coal cars 26 miles over some decent grades. Seen here about to hit the lakefront.

A couple of old DM&IR M.o.W. carts rest near the end of the track while a 120 car string of old DM&IR quad sets rest waiting for warmer weather and the return (hopefully) to BFT service.
